Thinking you’ll save money by hiring a van and doing it yourself?

General

🚐 Most people who’ve tried it will tell you the same thing – it ends up costing more than expected.

💷 The van hire alone rarely covers what you actually need. Then there’s the deposit, which some companies hold for days. And if you return it an hour late? Extra day’s charge.

🪛 Equipment is another one people forget. Furniture blankets, trolleys, straps, bubble wrap, boxes – none of that comes with the van. You either buy it or borrow it. Either way, there’s a cost.

⏰ Then there’s the time involved. A full day off work, possibly two. If you’re moving in London – Putney, Wandsworth, anywhere with traffic – you’re not doing this in a morning.

🏥 And injuries happen more than people admit. Lifting something the wrong way, a narrow doorway, a heavy wardrobe.

📦 What Great Moving offers is a transparent quote – home removals, man and van, packing service, whatever suits your move. Just the job done properly.

Packing your entire home yourself often sounds simple until the reality sets in.

📦 Before long, many people find themselves surrounded by boxes, wrapping materials, and a growing list of things still left to pack.

🧰 The packing service from Great Moving Putney is designed to save you both time and effort. Our team arrives with all necessary materials, including boxes, packing paper, bubble wrap, tape, furniture covers, and specialist protection for delicate items. From wardrobes and kitchen contents to valuable and fragile possessions, everything is packed carefully and professionally.

🛡️ Professional packing significantly reduces the risk of damage during a move. Glassware, artwork, mirrors, electronics, and other delicate items all require appropriate materials and packing techniques to ensure safe transportation.

🚚 Whether you are arranging a full home removal, an office relocation, or a smaller man and van service, adding professional packing to your booking removes one of the most time-consuming parts of the moving process. In a busy city like London, that extra peace of mind can make a real difference.
